Going Through Rivers of Difficulty

Growing in Christ is a process. As we mature in Christ, we experience various trials and testing of our faith. Most believers are not prepared because no one explains that trials and testing are part of God’s process for growth and maturity.

However, the one thing I learned as I grew in Christ was that these experiences were meant to mature me. I had to learn how to go through each trial, testing and tribulation. Allow me to share three lessons I learned from the Prophet Isaiah about going through adversity.

The first lesson, when you go through deep waters, God is with you. The second lesson, “When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.” Isaiah 43:2b (NLT)

There is a difference between deep waters and rivers! Rivers are rough and the current can sweep you away. I recently saw a video of a woman whose car was caught by a flash flood and dragged to a nearby river with her still inside. By some miracle, the driver was saved from drowning. Like this woman, you will not drown in your rivers of difficulty. God will rescue and save you. Give God your best praise!
