From Bishop Jemmott’s Shepherd to Shepherd article entitled: “Where is The Difference?”:

There are some things as pastors we need to stay away from. The believers in Corinth had a problem with eating meat sacrificed to idols; some believed it was wrong, and others believed it was ok. Because of Grace, Paul said yes, Grace gives us freedom, but he also said that we should not use our freedom in such a way that we allow a weaker brother or sister to fall. “You say, “I am allowed to do anything” —but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial. Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others.” 1 Corinthians 10:23-24 (NLT) Not every behavior is beneficial!

There has to be a difference between believers and the world. Paul also said, “Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord. “And do not touch what is unclean; And I will welcome you.” 2 Corinthians 6:17 (NASB) The Greek word for separate is “aphorizo”, meaning to mark off by boundaries from, to set apart. There has to be boundaries between believers and the world. As preachers and leaders, we are held to a even higher standard.

In the days of Hosea the prophet, you could not tell the difference between the priest and the people, because of this God said that He was coming to judge them. “The result: You can’t tell the people from the priests, the priests from the people. I’m on my way to make them both pay and take the consequences of the bad lives they’ve lived.” Hosea 4:9 (MSG) Jesus is coming soon. There is still time to repent and turn to God again. My prayer, Lord forgive me and help me to live so others can see you in my life! Amen.
