From Bishop Jemmott’s book, Words of Encouragement: Book Two:

The phrase “objects in the mirror are closer than they appear” is a safety warning that is required to be engraved on passenger side mirrors of motor vehicles in the USA and Canada. It is present because while these mirrors’ convexity gives them a useful field of view, it also makes objects appear smaller or distant. A driver might make a maneuver such as a lane change assuming that the adjacent vehicle is a safe distance behind when in fact it is much closer.

Many of us have allowed ourselves to give up on our dreams because it seems distant or out of reach. We don’t realize that our dream is closer than we think. Here is a word to encourage you.

If you have given up on your dreams, God wants to breathe new life into them. He wants to breathe new hope into your heart. You may be about to give up on your marriage, a troubled child, or a lifelong dream. But God wants you to hold on. He says that if you get your second wind, if you put on a new attitude and press forward like you are headed down the final stretch, you will see Him begin to do amazing things for you. “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5 (NASB)
