Stability and Security

Stability and Security

March 6, 2016

From Bishop Jemmott’s book Words of Encouragement: Book One

Stability is the state of being stable; to be stable is to not likely change or fail, or to be firmly established. Security is the degree of resistance to, or protection from, harm. It applies to any vulnerable and valuable asset, such as a person, dwelling, community, nation, or organization. A nation can only become strong when it experiences stability and security. Likewise, a believer will not grow strong in the Lord without stability and security. Living life in relative stability and security is possible, even in days like the one we live in, which are full of distress and turmoil. It’s possible because we are anchored to God who is immutable and protects those who put their trust in Him. God promises to surround and protect all who put their trust in Him.

“Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever. Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people, both now and forever.”
Psalm 125:1-2 (NLT)

Since the presence of God surrounds and protects us, we can live life in stability and security. Nothing should prevent us from growing in Christ; anything that comes against us will have to pass through the hands of the Lord. Because He surrounds those who trust in Him, we can and should experience stability and security.

Be Blessed,

Bishop Jemmott
