Perspective

Perspective

From Bishop Jemmott’s book Words of Encouragement: Book One

One of the definitions of perspective is: a mental view or prospect. Having perspective is important; not having perspective is like traveling without directions, or seeing and not understanding what you see. When we get discouraged, we temporarily lose our perspective. Little things become gigantic; a small irritation looks like a big irritation. Our motivation is drained away and all of our hope departs. When you lose your perspective you lose focus of what’s important and what God called you to be.

Perspective is like having faith. When we have no faith we are easily discouraged by what we see, and when our faith is lacking we can’t please God. “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6 (NASB)

Did you notice the word “impossible”?

Living by faith changes your perspective; impossible things become possible and dead things are resurrected. If you have lost your perspective, strengthen your faith. Your perspective will change as you strengthen your faith.

Be Blessed,

Bishop Jemmott
