Stay On Track!

Stay On Track!

From Bishop Jemmott’s book Words of Encouragement: Book One

The Pilgrim’s Progress is the best seller written by John Bunyan and published in February, 1678. The story is about Christian, who is traveling from his hometown, the city of destruction (this world) to the Celestial City (Heaven). For Christian, the best way to get to the Celestial City was to stay on course and not take any detours. Solomon said the following:

“A God-loyal life keeps you on track; sin dumps the wicked in the ditch.” Proverbs 13:6 (MSG)

Like Christian, you must run the race that is set before you, keeping your mind and your heart focused on The Lord. Don’t stray from the course; straying will cause you to fall into the ditch of sin and disappointment. However there is hope. If you have fallen in sin and disappointment, get up and get back on course, keeping your mind and heart stayed on Christ.

Take a lesson from Paul and press. “No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT)

      Stay on Track!

Be Blessed,

Bishop Jemmott
