I Am Off My Assets, What’s Next?

I Am Off My Assets, What’s Next?

December 28, 2015

You have made up your mind that you are going to get up off your assets and get involved! You will no longer be a spectator. Great! So, what’s the first thing you should do? Well, the author of the book of Acts gives us the starting place. “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.” Acts 2:42 (NLT)

The text said that they “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching.” The first place to start is the Word of God. The word devoted in the text is translated from the Greek word “proskartereō,” meaning to attend constantly. In other words, you make the study of God’s Word a priority in your life.

When was the last time you made it to Bible study? Are you one of those believers who only go to church on Sunday? In this coming year, make attending Bible study a regular habit. When was the last time you spent quality time with God and His Word in personal Bible study? Have you been reading His Word, the Bible, and praying on a consistent basis? As you prepare to enter the new year, commit to spending more time with God and His Word. This year, make prayer and reading the Word a priority in your daily routine.

Be Blessed,

Bishop Jemmott
