Assurance of Unshakable Peace!

Assurance of Unshakable Peace!

December 22, 2015

Assurance is a positive declaration intended to give confidence. The Apostle John writes the following about assurances Jesus gave to His disciples while he was praying for them. In His prayer, He lists three things His disciples would have to endure and the assurances that would keep them in the difficulty. He writes:

“I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” John 16:33 (MSG)

The first adversity listed is that you will experience difficult times. The assurance to difficult times is the Lord conquered the world. And since the Lord conquered the world, you will also conquer your difficulties.

The second adversity, some things in life will look like they will shake you and make you unstable in your walk. But here is the assurance: we will not break! Let the text speak for itself: “…trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace.” Look at the words unshakable, assured and deeply at peace; this is what is promised to those who put their trust in God. When your trust is in God, nothing should shake you or cause you to lose hope and peace. Praise Him!

Be Blessed,
