All Are Welcome to Ask

All Are Welcome to Ask

December 14, 2015

I often hear people say that God answers every prayer! To that, I say yes, but with qualification. Yes, I said qualifications! If you do not have a relationship with God, do you honestly believe that He will answer your prayer? Well, let me tell you what the Bible says about that. The Bible teaches that God does not answer the prayers of those who do not have a relationship with Him. The Israelites had a relationship with God, and He stopped listening to their prayers because of their idolatry. But God is merciful, and He gave them another opportunity. Listen to what God told the Prophet Ezekiel:

“This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am ready to hear Israel’s prayers and to increase their numbers like a flock.” Ezekiel 36:37 (NLT)

As with Israel, God is ready to hear your prayer if you will turn to Him in repentance. Not only will He hear your prayers, but He will increase you! Not only can we ask God, but everyone has the privilege to come to God in repentance. “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” Luke 18:1 (KJV)

Did you see what the text said? “That men…”; that means you! You can also approach God with your request. The blood of Jesus gives us access, to those who are in covenant relationship with God.

Be Blessed,

Bishop Jemmott
