The Purpose for Suffering Part 5

The Purpose for Suffering Part 5

November 30, 2015

I hope you have been encouraged by these lessons on suffering. If you are currently experiencing a season of suffering, be encouraged, steadfast and immovable.

“In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen.” 1 Peter 5:10-11 (NLT)

Before we proceed with the final lesson of the purpose for suffering, let’s review what we have learned so far. We learned that the first purpose is so that we can share in Christ’s suffering and also experience His Glory. The second lesson is that suffering only last for a little while. The third lesson is after suffering God will restore all that we lost during our suffering. The fourth lesson is that you will be supported and strengthened during your season of suffering.

The final lesson is your standing or position. The text says that you will be placed on a firm foundation. The season of suffering that you have endured will put you on a firm foundation, which will allow you to go through any future trial. Like the song says, “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.

Be Blessed,

Bishop Jemmott
