As I said earlier, suffering has a purpose in the life of every believer. The Apostle Peter helps us understand the reason and purpose of why we must experience suffering. He says, “In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen.” 1 Peter 5:10-11 (NLT)
First, Peter informs us that when we suffer with Christ, we will also share in His eternal glory. The second lesson about suffering is that it will only last for a little while. “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” Psalm 30:5 (NLT)
As the psalmist said, weeping and sorrow will end at daybreak. All you need to do is hold on until daybreak, because hard time and suffering will end, only to be replaced by joy. Yes! Suffering will only be for a little while, and after that, joy! I declare to you that your night is over and your morning is now!
Be Blessed,
