We’re continuing the study of the twelve occurrences of “let us” found in the book of Hebrews.  Let us review what we have learned so far.

      The first “let us” was from Hebrews 4:1, “Let us fear if,” which is talking about the fear of a person missing the promise of God’s eternal life. The second “let us” was from Hebrews 4:11, “Therefore let us be diligent.” As believers, we need to exercise diligently in pursuing the eternal rest. The third “let us” was from Hebrews 4:14, holding fast our confession. The fourth “let us” was from Hebrews 4:16, drawing near with confidence. The fifth “let us” was from Hebrews 6:1, pressing on to maturity. The sixth “let us” was from Hebrews 10:22, “draw near with a sincere heart.” The seventh “let us” was from Hebrews 10:23, hold fast the confession.”

      The eighth “let us” – “And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds.” Hebrews 10:24 (NASB)

      The word “stimulate” means to rouse to action or effort, as by encouragement or pressure.  As believers, we need to put effort in considering how to foster an environment of love and caring for one another in the church. It is essential for all believers to become involved in this kind of ministry. When was the last time you stimulated a brother or sister to love and to do good?
