The words “let us” appears in the New American Standard Bible (NASB) over two hundred times. When the author of the book of Hebrews uses the term “let us,” it is mostly referring to believers. Before we continue our study of the twelve occurrences of “let us” in the book of Hebrews, let’s summarize what we have discussed.

      The first “let us” was from Hebrews 4:1, “Let us fear if,” which is talking about the fear of a person missing the promise of God’s eternal life. The second “let us” was from Hebrews 4:11, “Therefore let us be diligent.” As believers, we need to exercise diligently in pursuing the eternal rest. The third “let us” was from Hebrews 4:14, holding fast our confession.

      The fourth “let us” is drawing near with confidence. “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 (NASB)

      Prior to Jesus’ death and resurrection, man could not approach God without a sacrifice of blood. However, because of His death and resurrection, the veil was torn from top to bottom, giving us complete access to God through the blood of Jesus Christ.
