Listen to Job’s assessment of trouble in Job 5:7 (NLT): “People are born for trouble as readily as sparks fly up from a fire.” In this life, the one thing we can expect is trouble. A trouble-free life! That sounds good, but if we did not experience troubles, we would not grow. When I look back over my life, I realize that my troubles have made me stronger.

      Walt Disney said this about trouble: “All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me… You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.”

      I’m not sure if Mr. Disney was a bible reader, but the Apostle James wrote something similar to the Jewish believers about troubles:

      “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.” James 1:2 (NLT)

      The first thing I want you to notice is that troubles will come your way. He did not say that you might experience troubles, but that you will experience them. And when troubles come your way, you should view them as an opportunity to rejoice. In other words, praise God in the troubles, because God is working His will in your life. Are you in the midst of troubles? Praise God!
