An unknown writer wrote the following about losing your temper: “Losing your temper does not show you are strong. It only shows how little control you have over your instincts.”
Whoever this writer was knew what they were talking about. I don’t know a single person who has not lost control over their temper at some time or another. We all have issues with our temper, but some of us have better control over our temper than others do. Have you ever lost your temper or witnessed a person who lost their temper? Every time you lose your temper, you appear to be out of control, and you make foolish and unwise decisions. Read the words of Solomon the preacher. “Control your temper, for anger labels you a fool.” Ecclesiastes 7:9 (NLT)
Did you see what the wisest man said about losing your temper? Any time you lose your temper you appear to be out of control. He also said, “A fool is quick-tempered, but a wise person stays calm when insulted.” Proverbs 12:16 (NLT)
In summary, controlling your temper is equivalent to being wise. If you don’t lose your temper, you will not be labeled a fool. Learn to stay calm when insulted or confronted and you will be in control of your instincts and temper!
Be Blessed,
Bishop Jemmott
