We are living in a time where holy living is not in vogue. Even believers are finding it difficult to live a holy life. Holiness is still the way believers need to live; how you dress does not make you holy. To be holy is to live a life that is different from the world. The Apostle Paul lists two things that believers should avoid in order to live a holy life.

      “For you remember what we taught you by the authority of the Lord Jesus. God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor – not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways.” 1 Thessalonians 4:2-5 (NLT)

      The first thing on Paul’s list is that the believer should stay away from sexual sin; don’t give in to the desire of the flesh. When you learn how to stay away from sexual sin, then the second part of Paul’s message comes into effect. We gain control over our lustful desires; we are no longer controlled by the flesh.

      When we stay away from these things, then we are on our way to becoming holy vessels that God can use.
