I have often heard believers say, “God is in control of my life,” only to hear them complain when life’s circumstances become difficult or they experience unexpected loss. I am also guilty of this behavior. If we say that God is in control of our lives, it means that we should see God’s will and purpose in whatever He allows to enter or exit our lives, whether good or bad things.

      Job is our example; God allowed the devil to take everything from Job, his children, his wealth and health, his position in society. This man lost everything.

      God used Job to show the devil, and those of us who read the account of his life, that there are men and women who despite catastrophic disaster remain faithful and maintain their integrity. Look at what Job said in the middle of his crisis. “So he will do to me whatever he has planned. He controls my destiny.” Job 23:14 (NLT)

      Did you hear what Job said? He said God was controlling his destiny. Even when it seems like there is no hope you need to say like Job, “God, you control my destiny.”

      Can you be like Job and say the same thing in the midst of all your trials and tribulations?
