Dr. Tony Evans – pastor, speaker, author, widely syndicated radio and television broadcaster – says the following about purpose: “When you realize God’s purpose for your life isn’t just about you, He will use you in a mighty way.” God’s purpose for your life will include Him using powerful, influential, wicked and unscrupulous people to push you to your destiny. Read how Solomon puts it: “God made everything with a place and purpose; even the wicked are included—but for judgment.” Proverbs 16:4 (MSG) You did not read it wrong, it said the “Wicked” have a purpose!
The Bible teaches that God uses individuals, even wicked people, for the purpose of getting us to our destiny. That person who is opposing and making life difficult for us, or that individual or persons who keep us up at night, even that person who makes us reach for Tums or the blood pressure medication, they are part of God’s purpose for our lives. I know that’s hard to swallow, but it’s true. Read what the Apostle Paul said about Pharaoh and how God used him to bring Moses into his purpose. “For Scripture says to Pharaoh: ‘I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.'” Romans 9:17 (NIV)
God raised Pharaoh to be the kind of ruler he was so that He could display His power over his kingdom and the world. However, God also used Pharaoh, the leader of a great nation, to train Moses to become a leader of a great people. To my fellow pastors and leaders, don’t get angry and frustrated because you are experiencing opposition, God is using that very opposition to push you into your destiny.
So you are being opposed, they have frustrated you at every turn and have made your life miserable! It’s time to refocus, and stop complaining; bring to an end asking God to remove the person, rather ask God to give you the grace to stay focused on the vision. Take your focus off the individual(s) and focus on God. When you begin to focus on God, He will begin to display His power over your opposition, and everyone and everything that is trying to hinder you.
Remember, it was a king who attempted to impede Moses. If God has allowed powerful people to oppose you, then your ministry is destined to be a powerful ministry. The level of your opposition determines the level of your accomplishment. The place of your greatest opposition is the place of your greatest anointing.
Remember to stay focused on the task and not on the opposition!
