Submit to God

Submit to God

August 6, 2015

To submit is to place oneself under someone with superior rank, or to be subject under someone’s authority. As believers, we need to submit to God and His will for our lives. One of my favorite preacher and author A.W. Tozer says this about submitting to God:

“The reason why many are still troubled, still seeking, still making little forward progress is because they haven’t yet come to the end of themselves. We’re still trying to give orders, and interfering with God’s work within us.”

Yes! “We’re still trying to give orders, and interfering with God’s work within us.” If we are still interfering with God’s work in us, then we are not submitted. The author of the book of Hebrews said the following: “Let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him.” Hebrews 10:22a (NLT) Every believer needs to draw close to God. In James 4:7-8, the Apostle James gives us the requirements which allows believers to draw closer to God. The first requirement is to submit to God’s will for your life. “Submit therefore to God.” (vs. 7)

Like the clay on the wheel, allow the potter to shape you into what He wants you to be, and not what you think you should be. You need to allow God to shape you into the vessels of His choice.

Remember, only the submitted clay gets the master’s touch.

Be Blessed,

Bishop Jemmott
