The phrase “Hindsight is 20/20” means that you can look in the past and see what you did wrong. 20/20 vision is perfect. So as you look back, you’re able to see “perfectly” what you should have done. “Hindsight is 20/20.”
When I look back over my life, I can clearly see all the mistakes and wrong turns I have made over the years. I have also noticed that every trial or problem I have experienced has made me into the man I am today. God used every disappointment, every set back to chisel my life into the purpose He has destined for me. Like the master craftsman, God is chiseling my life.
Proverbs 11:2 says the following:
“When swelling and pride come, then emptiness and shame come also, but with the humble (those who are lowly, who have been pruned or chiseled by trial, and renounce self) are skillful and godly Wisdom and soundness.”
As pastors, we experience many setbacks but I am here to encourage you. God will use every set back, every disappointment to skillfully chisel your life into the ministry He has purposed, determined and foreordained for you.
