Dropout

Life is difficult! I don’t have to tell you how hard life can be. The difficulty of life is multiplied many times over for those of us who are called Pastors. How many times I have desired to drop out of this race of being a Pastor. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have questioned God and asked him, “Why did you choose me? I am not perfect; I have so many flaws, and I am constantly facing one crisis after another. There are times I feel like I am fighting fires that will never end.

I fight on two fronts: I have to encourage the people that God has placed in my charge and I also have to deal with all of my personal issues. Some days I want to “drop out”. A dropout is someone who does not finish what they have started.

The Word of The Lord

“God is educating you; that’s why you must never drop out. He’s treating you as dear children. This trouble you’re in isn’t punishment; it’s training,”  Hebrews 12:7 MSG

Let me encourage you, God is training you – don’t drop out. I remember basic training in the Air Force was difficult, but I completed the course. Once I completed the basic training course I became an Airman. You must complete your course in order to go forward.

One final word, whatever crisis you are currently experiencing “it’s just training“.

Be blessed!
