The Piano

From The Bishop’s Pen The Book:

“O God, restore us And cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved.” (Psalm 80:3)

I was walking along the streets of Manhattan one day and much to my amazement I saw this piano. It was lying in the street broken and discarded. I thought, “What beautiful music it must have made. How it must have brought numerous hours of pleasure and joy to those who once heard its beautiful music.” Now, the piano was lying on the street broken and shattered, unable to make beautiful music. Never again would it be able to fulfill its intended purpose. The piano was waiting to be discarded.

Like the piano, some of us once made beautiful music. We brought great joy to those around us. You were once the source of someone’s happiness, but because of circumstances in your life you lie broken. You have been broken by a failed relationship or the loss of your job or perhaps you were shattered by the death of a spouse, child or parent, and you feel that your life is over. Life has not been kind to you. You have not fulfilled your dreams, ambitions or expectations. The one word that describes your life is disappointment.
Like the piano, you lie broken and shattered on the street waiting for the end. My friend, there is hope. The Master knows how to fix broken people and restore them back to their purpose. Trust in God and he will put the pieces back together again. Yes, you can make music again. God is the Master of turning broken people into new creations:

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have
come” (2 Cor. 5:17)

God is able to restore you. He can take the broken pieces of your life, put them all together, and
make you whole again. You don’t have to lie broken anymore. Allow the Restorer to restore you and put you back on your purpose.

“The Master knows how to fix broken people and restore them back to their purpose.”

Prayer of Restoration
“Father, I bring my broken pieces to you. I ask you to put me back together again. Thank you for the
assurance that comes from knowing that your thoughts toward me are precious. You knew me before I was formed in secret and You created me with purpose:

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have
appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (Jer. 1:5)
