Deception

From Bishop Jemmott’s book, Words of Encouragement: Book One:

Deception, beguilement, deceit, bluff, mystification and subterfuge are acts to propagate beliefs that are not true, or not the whole truth such as in half-truths or omission. Deception can involve dissimulation, propaganda, and sleight of hand, as well as distraction, camouflage, or concealment. (Wikipedia)

Many people who call themselves believers practice the art of deception; they never reveal their true personality and they never give you the whole story.

I call these believers undercover agents; they specialize in subterfuge and beguilement, and operate under the principle of deception. Remember that deception was the strategy used by Satan to cause Eve to sin and violate God’s command. “And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.” 1 Timothy 2:14 (NASB) God wants nothing to do with people who practice deception. “God guards knowledge with a passion, but he’ll have nothing to do with deception.” Proverbs 22:12 (MSG)

Deception is not of God!

Be Blessed,

Bishop Jemmott
