As we leave this year behind us and move forward into the new year, let’s make it our priority to get involved. Involvement means to draw in as a participant, to relate closely, to connect, and to include. Let’s review some of the areas you should become involved in. First, get involved in group and personal Bible study, and prayer. Second, get involved with members of your family. The third area of involvement has to do with encouraging others to love and attending church on a consistent basis.
Remembering that involvement means to become a participant, the fourth and final area we need to become more involved in for the new year is sharing our faith or evangelism. Jesus’ final command to His disciples was that they should go preach the Gospel to all the world. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,” Matthew 28:19 (NASB) Since we are disciples of Christ, we need to do the same. Sharing your faith is not an option, it’s a command.
So as we enter this new year, let’s make sharing our faith one of our priorities. That means you must put away your isolationist ways and become involved by sharing your faith with the world. Set yourself a goal to share your faith with a minimum of twelve non-believers this year. Not only will you share your faith, but you will invite them to your church.
Remember, get involved. Be blessed and have a prosperous and blessed New Year!
