The book of Proverbs is known as the book of wisdom. My advice to every young man and woman is to read a chapter in the book of Proverbs every day. Proverbs has 31 chapters, read the chapter corresponding to the date and then meditate on it. Read what it says about wisdom.
“Joyful are those who listen to me, watching for me daily at my gates, waiting for me outside my home! For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord. But those who miss me injure themselves. All who hate me love death.” Proverbs 8:34-36 (NLT)
These words describe a certain attitude we should have for wisdom; one that’s been vivid and real to me for many years. “Joyful are those who listen to me…” Whoever has your ear will determine how successful you will become.
“Joyful are those who listen to me, watching for me daily at my gates, waiting for me outside my home!”
Every believer needs to put a high priority on seeking wisdom, first with a daily desire to wait at wisdom’s doorway for instructions. Second, we should have our ears opened and prepared to listen to what wisdom has to say. How about you, are you at wisdom’s door waiting for directions?
If you read the book of Proverbs, you will hear wisdom speaking!
