Deal With Your Sins

None of us are perfect! The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”Romans 3:23 (NASB) However the difference between the believer and the sinner is that we the believers made the choice to do something about the sin in our lives. We choose to deal with our sin and we make no attempts to whitewash or cover our sins. The book of Proverbs tells us that “You can’t whitewash your sins and get by with it; you find mercy by admitting and leaving them.” Proverbs 28:13 (MSG)

Notice Solomon said that you can’t whitewash your sins. The word whitewash is a metaphor meaning to gloss over or cover up vices, crimes or scandals or to exonerate by means of a perfunctory investigation or through biased presentation of data. It is especially used in the context of corporations, governments or other organizations. In other words, stop trying to cover up your sins, but rather deal with them by admitting your short comings and sins. Allow God to forgive you so that you can move on with your life.
