Be Devoted to One Another

I have often heard it said that the church is full of hypocrites, and one of the reasons why this may sound true is because as believers we don’t demonstrate what the Bible teaches. Let me ask you two questions. How is your relationship with other believers? Does it measure up to the teachings of the Bible?

The Apostle Paul gives us ten biblical relations believers need to exhibit towards other believers. Let me warn you, you may have to do some repenting after you read the text:

“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.”
Romans 12:10-13 (NASB)

The first key to biblical relationships is devotion to one another. The Greek word for devoted is “philostorgos“, which is a compound of two Greek words. The first word is “philos” meaning beloved, dear or friends. The second word is “storgé” meaning family affection; tenderly loving. Christians are part of God’s family, and we should love each other like family, we are part of this family called The Church, you never hear outsiders saying that a family is full of hypocrites.

We must be devoted to one another!
