One of the wisest men to ever live said this about God, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:6 (NASB)
To acknowledge a person means that you recognize that the person is real or true; your acknowledgement certifies that the person exists. It also shows or expresses that you recognize their authority, and shows your appreciation and gratitude for them. Let me give you a modern day example of what it means to acknowledge someone. When a man acknowledges that he is the father of a child, he certifies that the child is his, and he gives the child his identity as a son. So when you acknowledge God, you certify that He exists.
The best way to acknowledge the Lord is through your praise and worship. Praise Him that He is in charge. Praise Him for His faithfulness towards you. Praise Him for all the help that you have received from Him in the past, present and future. Praise Him for His wisdom. Praise Him for His power. As you praise Him, you are acknowledging Him. By praising Him, you say thank you for the continual control of your life and your situation. By praising Him, you acknowledge His continued guidance, support and direction for your life. When you worship Him you show your love for Him.
Be Blessed,
