From Bishop Jemmott’s Words of Encouragement article entitled “God’s Purpose for Me”:

Purpose is the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. There are many who believe that their life has no purpose; it is because they have lost hope. Everything has purpose for being in the world. God created you with purpose!

The Psalmist writes the following in Psalm 138:8 (NASB): “The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Your lovingkindness, O Lord, is everlasting; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.” You should rejoice knowing that God has a purpose for you. The text says that the Lord will accomplish and fulfill His purpose for my life.

While I know that everything and everyone has purpose, there is a difference between your purpose and God’s purpose. I may have one purpose for my life that does not include God. As a matter of fact, some believe that their purpose in life has nothing to do with God. To those of you who have this belief system, the following guarantee is not for you.

But for those of you who believe in God’s purpose for your life, here is a guarantee just for you. He promised that He will fulfill His purpose in our lives. When God commits Himself to fulfill His purpose in our lives, it is a commitment for time and eternity. Yes, God will finish what He started.

Be Blessed,

Bishop Jemmott
