From Bishop Jemmott’s Words of Encouragement article entitled “My Weakness Makes Me Strong”:
Weakness is defined as the state or condition of lacking strength. It is also a quality or feature regarded as a disadvantage, such as a fault, flaw, defect, deficiency, weak point, failing, shortcoming, weak link, imperfection and Achilles heel. And finally, weakness can be a person or thing that one is unable to resist or likes excessively.
Hall of famed and perhaps the greatest basketball player Michael Jordan said the following about weakness: “My attitude is that if you push me towards something that you think is a weakness, then I will turn that perceived weakness into a strength.”
Most men will never talk about their weakness. When a man begins to talk about his weakness, others view him as weak. Well, let me set the record straight. It takes a real man to talk about his weaknesses. The Apostle Paul was a real man who had a weakness, and he was not afraid to talk about it. “Each time he said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT)
As Paul said, having a weakness and acknowledging that weakness is what makes us strong. God will take our weaknesses and make us stronger so that the power of Jesus Christ can be manifested in our life.
Turn your weakness into a strength!
Be Blessed,
Bishop Jemmott
