When You Don’t Know What To Do

The popular saying “between a rock and a hard place” means to be in a tough situation, and to have to make a hard decision between two things that are equally unpleasant. Have you ever been or are you currently caught “between a rock and a hard place?” If you are, I hope this brief article will help you.

Sometimes we face difficult times that make us feel overwhelmed, and it seems, like there is no escape or help. The thing or persons confronting us gives the impression that its main goal is to destroy us. King Jehoshaphat was confronted by three nations who allied themselves to destroy him and his kingdom; it looked like they were going to succeed in their purpose. However, King Jehoshaphat prayed to God, and listen to what he prayed, “O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” 2 Chronicles 20:12 (NKJV)

I love what he said in his prayer, his enemies were powerful, and he did not know what to do. But he nevertheless focused on his God, the Lord Jehovah. His eyes were fixed on God, not his enemies. Like Jehoshaphat, let me encourage you to take your eyes off the problem and focus on God! He is able to deliver you out of the rock and the hard place.

Here is what you need to do in this season when confronted by a difficult situation, keep your eyes on Jesus, it’s not up to you to figure out how God is going to deliver you, just focus on Him, allow Him to work things out for you. It’s been my experience that God works everything in my favor, even if the enemy wins, God can take the enemy’s victory and turn it into a blessing for you. Hold on to God’s Word, focus on His Word, walk in the assurance of His word. Here are a few verses from the Word of God to encourage you to hold on:

Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I’m not afraid when you walk at my side.
Your trusty shepherd’s crook makes me feel secure.”
Psalms 23:4 (MSG)

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (MSG)

Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the
One who makes me who I am.
Philippians 4:13 (MSG)

That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God
is worked into something good.
Romans 8:28 (MSG)

When you don’t know what to do focus on God and not the problem, you WILL make it through!

Be Blessed
