From Bishop Jemmott’s book, Words of Encouragement: Book One
Jesus approached a fig tree looking for fruit, when He saw that the tree had no fruit, He cursed it. Later, as they were returning from the city, the disciples saw that the tree had withered and died. They asked Jesus how this was possible; He informed them that if they had faith they could command mountains.
“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”
Mark 11:23 (NIV)
I believe that Jesus was literally saying that our faith will allow us to move physical mountains. But the more practical application should be toward the things in our lives that appear to be mountains, such as financial difficulties, facing insurmountable odds or facing personal relationship problems. As believers, when we are faced with our personal mountains, Jesus gave us the key to overcoming them. He said that we should command the mountain. In other words, speak to that mountain. Command that financial mountain to move out of your life.
Remember, command your mountain.
Be Blessed,
Bishop Jemmott
