From Bishop Jemmott’s book Words of Encouragement: Book One
The term Omnipresence describes one of God’s attributes meaning God is ever-present, He is always with us. Only God is everywhere at the same time, the devil can’t be everywhere at the same time like God, when God asked him where he was coming from, “Satan answered the Lord, ‘I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.'” Job 1:7 (NLT) God does not have to patrol the earth, He is ever-present.
The psalmist puts it correctly when he says, “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?” Psalm 139:7 (NASB)
The presence of God is made manifest by His Spirit. God told the prophet Jeremiah that He fills all things; He fills the heaven and the earth. “‘Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?’ says the Lord.” Jeremiah 23:24b (NLT)
It’s not the visible, manifested form of God that fills the heavens or the earth, but the invisible, imperceptible presence of God, the Holy Spirit, which fills the entire universe. That same presence dwells in us and gives us the power to overcome any obstacle.
The Holy Spirit is everywhere and in us at the same time!
