      A lie is defined as a false statement to a person or group made by another person or group who knows it is not the whole truth, intentionally. There are many people who would rather hear a lie than the truth, but the problem with the lie is that it does not last. Anytime you tell a lie you have to back it up with another lie; only the truth lasts. The late Bishop Joseph used to say, “Truth is like oil in water, it always floats to the top.”

      Solomon said, “Truth lasts; lies are here today, gone tomorrow.” Proverbs 12:19 (MSG) My mother always said, “Tell me the truth! I want to hear truth, even if the truth hurts.” Why? Truth is defendable, you can’t defend a lie. As Solomon said, the truth is the only thing that will last. Jesus said, “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.” John 17:17 (NASB)

      The Word of God is truth; truth which you can build your life on!
