From Bishop Jemmott’s book Words of Encouragement: Book One
I am still dealing with relationships between believers. How is your relationship with other believers? Does it measure up to the teachings of the Bible? The Apostle Paul gives us principles for biblical relationship; he states that believers should contribute to the needs of other believer. Let me make this clear. Yes, Paul is saying that we should help other believers financially; “contributing to the needs of the saints.” Romans 12:12-13
Every believer needs to be a good steward of the resources God has placed in their hands. Remember how the master commended the servant who doubled the talent he received. One of the ways God wants us to carry out our responsibilities as stewards is by “contributing to the needs of the saints.” The text is not talking about unbelievers, but believers; our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Sowing seed into the kingdom of God is the key to receiving. Not only should we give to our local church, but we also need to give to one another. Remember, your giving is proof of your love. “Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them. If you can help your neighbor now, don’t say, Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you.” Proverbs 3:27-28 (NLT)
Who have you blessed lately?
Be Blessed,
