Loyalty

Loyalty

October 28, 2015

Loyalty is the state or quality of being loyal; faithfulness to commitments or obligations. Just as in politics where you are either democrat or republican, you cannot be loyal to two causes. The Apostle James says the following about loyalty:

“But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.” James 1:6-8 (NLT)

Many believers think that they can be loyal to the world and still be loyal to God, but it doesn’t work that way. Sooner or later, one will become more important in your life and you will forsake the other. As the Apostle James said, “A person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.” When your loyalty is divided, you will be carried away by any doctrine. Is your loyalty in Christ or is it in the world? The choice is yours!

Be Blessed,

Bishop Jemmott
