Going Through Deep Waters

Going Through Deep Waters

October 23, 2015

When I first gave my heart to the Lord, the saints welcomed me into the body of Christ, telling me that it was the best and greatest decision of my life. While that was true, they never told me or prepared me for the trials, testing, and tribulations that I was going to experience along the way. The one thing I learned as I grew in Christ was that these experiences were meant to mature me in Christ and that I had to learn how to go through each trial, testing and tribulation. Allow me to share three lessons I learned from the Prophet Isaiah about going through adversity.

The first lesson, “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.” Isaiah 43:2a (NLT)

Have you ever dove into deep waters? When you begin to swim to the surface, it seems as if you will never break the surface. As you struggle to break the surface, your mind tells you that you will not be able to hold your breath any longer. Well, that’s what it seems like when you are going through deep-water trials and the testing of your faith. But here is the assurance from God; I am with you! When God is with you, you will not drown.

Be Blessed,

Bishop Jemmott
