I was recently watching a women’s track race; I believe it was the 400 meter. As the women rounded for the final curve the most amazing thing happened; the lead runner tripped and fell. What made it amazing was that she got up and finished the race in first place. She did not allow her fall to keep her from pressing forward.

      Like the woman track star, every believer needs to learn how to press forward. Don’t allow a fall or setback to keep you from pressing forward. Not even your past mistakes, failures and disappointments. Read what Paul says about pressing forward. “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” Philippians 3:14 (NLT)

      Only those who finish receive a reward! When you press on and finish the race that is set before you, only then will you be rewarded. Some of you have stopped fighting; you’ve fallen or tripped, and you have given up. You’ve allowed life’s circumstances to beat you down, but I’ve written these words with you in mind. Get Up! Press on! Don’t allow the mistakes, failures or disappointments of your past to keep you from pressing forward. Your reward is waiting for you.

      Get up and run!
