You Are Not Alone

You Are Not Alone

August 23, 2015

Are you lonely? Life’s events can sometimes cause us to experience loneliness. These events can include losing a loved one or close friend, missing a loved one who lives in a distant land, the break-up of a marriage, prolonged illness, and social or psychological problems. Another life event that causes loneliness is crises or difficult times. We all deal with crises in different ways; one way of dealing with it is to withdraw. When you withdraw, you get the feeling that you are all alone.

The disciples were about to face a crisis; Jesus was going to leave them. As Jesus began to prepare His disciples for His death, resurrection and His ultimate departure to the Father, He started preparing them for life without Him. He promised them that they would not be alone. Like the disciples, many of us are fearful about being alone, but Jesus makes them a promise. He promises them another companion, the Holy Spirit. “I will talk to the Father, and he’ll provide you another Friend so that you will always have someone with you.” John 14:16 (MSG)

Like the disciples, you are not alone; you have the Holy Spirit walking and abiding with. You may have lost a loved one, or experienced the break-up of your marriage. Yes, it hurts and hurts bad, but you are not alone. The Spirit of the living God is your comfort and assurance that you will never be alone.

Be Blessed,

Bishop Jemmott
