The Lord Will Be With You

The Lord Will Be With You

August 2, 2015

Moses spent his final days as leader of the nation of Israel training his successor. Since he was unable to enter into the Promised Land with Joshua and the people, Moses instructed and encouraged Joshua on the difficulties of being a leader. He prepared him with six assurances.

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” Deuteronomy 31:8 (NLT)

The first assurance Moses gave Joshua was “do not be afraid”. Never allow fear to stop you from completing your tasks. The second assurance was don’t be “discouraged”. To be discouraged is to lose confidence or enthusiasm. The third assurance, God will lead and “go ahead of you” to deal with all of your enemies.

The fourth assurance: God will never leave you! “He will be with you.” People always tell pastors that they are with them, but are nowhere to be found when needed the most. The constant thing I have learned is that no matter what I am experiencing, God is ever present. As He promised to be with Joshua, God will also be with you.

“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” Psalm 23:4 (NLT)

Even in your darkest valley, God is with you!

Be Blessed,

Bishop Jemmott
